Paul Zollo

Paul Zollo is a singer-songwriter, author, and music journalist. As the editor of SongTalk, the journal of the National Academy of Songwriters, he's been dedicated since 1987 to interviewing the world's great songwriters.

Born in Chicago, he studied English and Music at Boston University and is the author of The Beginning Songwriter's Answer Book, a manual on all aspects of writing, recording and marketing songs. He has written about music for many magazines, including Musician, Acoustic Guitar, Sing Out!, Billboard, Variety, and The Performing Songwriter. Additionally, Paul has contributed CD liner notes for artists including Paul Simon, Laura Nyro, Dan Fogelberg, Townes Van Zandt and Thom Bishop.

He performed and recorded with his band The Ghosters for many years in Los Angeles, and has recently released his first album as a solo artist, Orange Avenue. He was the founder and original host of The Acoustic Underground, a Los Angeles acoustic showcase, and Bobfest, an annual tribute to Bob Dylan.

Paul has most recently released an insightful and thorough book on Tinsel Town's Golden Age, Hollywood Remembered, as well as an updated and expanded version of his incredible collection of tunesmith interviews, Songwriters on Songwriting.
